Replicable and scalable design models for relatively concentrated village housing

The new form of Jiangnan villages should be beautiful and also easy to be duplicated and emulated. Today’s village houses of Shanghai have lost their identities due to the pursuit of foreign trends while the essence of being villages is fading because they are trying to be like cities. Taking the centralized peasant housing planning and architecture design of Shuiku village, Caojing as an example, this project comes up with 3 ideas: enhance the nature talent, make public spaces productive and give the vernacular architecture new power. These ideas will help to build authentic and new Jiangnan villages which combine tourism industry and agriculture together. Moreover it is making efforts to find a duplicable paradigm of centralized peasant housing design.
