Cloud-shaped Water-stone

Located on the shore of the Huguang Canal, the SND Cultural and Sports Center is surrounded by highways, mountains and waterways. We landscape the remaining walls to treat the urban ecological “scars” left by the quarrying of mountains. The complex’s multiple courtyards, varying heights, and a terraced form based on the site’s topography bring more generous rooftop space and better climbing experience, so that the huge complex of 170,000sqm can be merged into context as an "invisible" landscaping building and open spaces enable to host residents’ daily activities. The complex which fit into hills and digitalized lake stone is in response to the Taihu Lake landscape and the core of Gusu culture.
