Urban design of the Wuhuali section of the Qiinhuai riverside in Nanjing

Qinhuai River is the mother river of Nanjing, and constitutes the key axis of the origin and evolution of Nanjing city together with Zhonghua Road. The plots along the river plays an important role in the overall renaissance of the old city. Focus on the western half of Qinhuai River, based on historic relics and historical information, this urban design protects and displays the old city from 3 points: Firstly, linking the historical and cultural resources and the living service facilities along the river, and shaping Nanjing's important historical and cultural routes; Secondly, inheriting and optimizing the spatial characteristics of the riverside plots, taking into account both the historical value and the needs of contemporary public life; Finally, exploring the design method to continue the traditional urban tissue based on the exploration of “Virtual Plots”, and transforming it into planning control method through the guidelines.
