The graduate design project of the 2019 Tongji university architecture undergraduates: experiment on Lujiazui Century Avenue

In many cities in China, in the development of the previous stage, there are few considerations for appropriate scales, mixed functions, and urban vitality. The teaching team will lead students to carry out experimental design and imagination of Shanghai's iconic “problem avenue”. According to various problem analysis and international case comparison, the research team designed two kinds of transformational ideas for Century Avenue, one to sink the Century Avenue; the other to lift the Century Avenue. At the same time of presenting detailed design drawings, analysis charts and renderings, the designs were presented in a large scale model of 1:1000.
