Liu Shiyuan

Liu Shiyuan was born in Beijing in 1985 and studied at the Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing. After completing a postgraduate degree at School of Visual Arts in 2012, she now lives and works in Copenhagen, Denmark. Liu Shiyuan's works have appeared in various large-scale exhibitions, recent individual exhibitions include: "In Other Words" Blank Space. Beijing, China, 2019; "Isolated Above, Connected Down", Tanya Bonakdar Gallery. New York, USA, 2018; "As simple as mud", Yuz Museum, Shanghai, China. Her recent exhibitions include: "Front international - Cleveland Triennial for Contemporary Art: An American City", Cleveland, The United States, 2018 "Art Patrons", Qiao Space & Tank Art Center, Shanghai, China, 2018 "Welcome To The Jungle", Kunsthalle Dusseldorf, Dusseldorf, Germany, 2018 "Cold night" UCCA, Beijing, China, 2017 "COM.CN", K11 Art Foundation & MOMA PS1, Hongkong, China, 2017; "Yinchuan Biennale 2016 - For an Image, Faster Than Light, Out There", MOCA Yinchuan, Yinchuan, China, 2016 "SHE - International Woman Artists Exhibition", Long Museum, Shanghai, China, 2016 "Local-Chinese artists in a time of turbulence and transformation", Fondation Louis Vuitton, Paris, France, 2016. Apart from Asian and European art projects, Liu is preparing her first solo exhibition in the United States. It will be exhibited at Patricia & Phillip Frost Art Museum in Miami in January 2020.
